Dr. Andrea Aduna is a California girl at heart, born in Marin and raised in Sonoma county. From a young age, she developed a passion for healthcare and making people smile after school at a children’s physical therapy clinic in Santa Rosa.
Dr. Andrea completed her undergraduate training at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine – where she double majored in Biology and Visual Arts. It was here that she developed a love for public health. She obtained her Master's in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in New York City. While studying, she narrowed her interest to the oral healthcare sector. She completed her Doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At UPenn, she immersed herself in public health activities with a pediatric focus. She graduated with Honors in Community Oral Health to become a specialist in pediatrics. To fulfill this dream, Dr. Andrea then moved to the beautiful state of Colorado, where she completed her pediatric dentistry residency at the Children’s Hospital Colorado –continually ranked in the top ten children’s hospitals in the nation. Her residency gave Dr. Andrea the expertise to provide specialized pediatric dental care to her patients.
Dr. Andrea returned to the Bay Area to work alongside Dr. Neidre Banakus in Novato. Dr. Andrea considers herself fortunate to call the Bay Area home and enjoys building relationships with this incredible community. She is now bringing her expertise to Poppy Kids Pediatric Dentistry, providing specialized dental care to children of all ages, giving each child a positive dental experience that cultivates self-confidence.
